Here are some of the most
frequently asked questions
Managed Services
* Do you get into my data? - No.
we are watching for the behavior of your network and
workstations. The only time we will handle any data is
when you are needing us to, through support of programs or
database fixes or migrations.
* I don't want
anyone to login to my network from outside my company.
- Our Elite Monitor service is basically a Read Only style
of service. We don't log in to your computers.
There is only 1 direction that any information is seen and
that is through a Secure Direct Connection to the CLH Server
- an Outbound connection and Not an inbound connection into
your servers. The port needed
to be open on your servers does not allow incoming
communication through that port. Your network stays
very secure and other people cannot log into your servers
via our services.
If you get Elite Manage or Elite Active
services, those connections are still secure with Department
of Defense style of links between CLH servers and yours.
It is very secure, so-much-so that CLH is able to comply
with HIPPA and other regulations that the federal government
has set forth for different industries that deal with
records and government information.
* How can you see all devices attached
to the network - Devices that can plug into a network by
using a network cable (RJ45 plug) all come with the
reporting function called SNMP - Simple Network Management
Protocol - we setup that device to speak to a community and
we pickup those signals and convert them to English so they
are understandable. Through SNMP, we see the health of
your device, if it is a printer, we can tell if it is low on
toner, paper, or in a power-down state. This is a big
part of the Proactive Maintenance Services that are provided
by CLH International.
Hardware
* What type of hardware do I need to
have - The CLH monitoring and maintenance services are
setup to monitor the Microsoft Server environment, but can
also monitor Novell and Macintosh environments but will need
to have a Windows Server setup to be the main host of the
program needed at your office. Call us today to talk to a
Customer Service Rep to discuss our services and equipment
needed. Most of the time, if you have a Windows Server
and workstations, we will have no problem helping you out
with your network and workstations.
Software
* What type of Operating System
must we have for your services - In order to
watch and maintain your network, we must have the program we
have loaded onto a Windows Server environment - Server 2000,
Server 2003, Server 2008, or any flavor of Small Business
Server for 2003 and 2008. We then can see operating
systems like Novell or Unix as a part of the attached
network.
